New Jersey man accused of killing mother

A 24-year-old New Jersey man who was accused of stabbing his mother to death was scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23 to enter a plea of insanity. The man was accused of committing the crime on Sept. 1 in Ho-Ho-Kus, a township in Bergen County.

16 arrested in drug sting

On Sept. 10, several New Jersey residents were arrested for their alleged involvement in a cocaine distribution ring. A Morris County prosecutor stated that the crime ring was operating in New York City as well as New Jersey's Union, Hudson, Bergen, Passaic and Morris counties. Police executed search warrants on Sept. 10 and arrested 16 people, six of whom are considered past violent offenders. More than a dozen law enforcement agencies in northern New Jersey collaborated on the investigation.

New Jersey rapper faces multiple charges after altercation

A Jersey City rapper turned himself into police on Aug. 27 after being charged with robbery and grand larceny. He allegedly stole his former girlfriend's cell phone outside of a Washington Heights restaurant earlier in the month. The woman also alleges that he choked her at his home and smashed her head against the dashboard of his car. However, he was not charged with assault after those allegations.
