Camera installer facing multiple charges

According to law enforcement authorities, a New Jersey camera installer is facing charges related to three separate incidents. The 38-year-old Franklin Township man was initially charged on Sept. 1 with using a surveillance camera system that he had installed to watch a woman in her home.

Law enforcement authorities also allege that the man also exposed himself on July 3 in New Brunswick to a 7-year-old girl. Prosecutors have also alleged that the man touched a 32-year-old woman inappropriately in Edison at a playground located at an apartment complex on Aug. 25.

Middlesex prosecutors stated that they linked the man to the two earlier incidents while investigating him for the alleged surveillance camera spying. Sources do not indicate how they determined that he was the perpetrator in any of the alleged incidents. The man is facing multiple charges, including computer theft, sex assault, lewdness, child endangerment and criminal sexual contact. He is the owner of Scope It Out, a computer business in Somerset.

Allegations of sex crimes may result in an aggressive prosecution, especially when children are alleged to be victims. People who are charged with sex crimes might want to get help from criminal defense attorneys who have experience with defending against such charges. Legal counsel may be able to identify defenses that may be raised. The attorney may mount an aggressive defense to the charges in an effort to help the client successfully resolve the case. A person who is convicted of a sex offense may face a prison term and a lifetime requirement of sex offender registration.
